The kids are so fortunate to have their grandparents so close!
Over the weekend, the kids saw all their grandparents in one day. (I guess they all needed their kid fix).
Friday September 30, 2011 was Grammy's day off of work. The kids LOVE to go over to her house to swim and play with her toys. Maddison and Matthew never want to leave. They ask everyday to go over to her house. Maddie plays with Grammy's baby dolls, kitchen toys, puzzles and occasionally the cars. Matthew loves to watch movies, eat on the couch or play on her laptop. Mason enjoys being snuggled by Grammy. He also gets sniffed by Bella, the dog, when there. She is very curious of him. Bella probably knows that she is now at Grammy's because I couldn't handle her and 3 kids!Later that day, Grandma Mimi came over to spend time with Mason and Maddison. She got her baby fix with Mason, but Maddison was getting very jealous, and wanted Mimi to play with her. She did not want Mimi and Mommy sitting down and talking either. So, Mimi played tea party and kitchen with Maddison for awhile. Once Maddison was content, Mommy and Mimi finally got to sit down and talk. But of course Maddison was right there bringing us food she "made and cooked" in her kitchen. She kept telling us, "Hot, Blow!"
On Saturday morning Papa and Grandma came over! They brought the kids treats and Mommy flowers, as well as Daddy a birthday card! We dressed Mason in a fireman outfit so he could "be like Papa". Maddison loves cuddling with her Papa.
Matt and Grandma played his new game "Would you Rather". It is hilarious. One of the questions was: "Would you rather get a paper cut on your tongue, or have a booger in your nose you can't reach all day."
It is a fun game to play with kids and adults. We enjoyed listening to some of their answers.
Later that afternoon, Matthew had a soccer game......
| Matthew is in the white jersey |
He typically plays center or right mid, but this game he also played forward and stopper. The coach told us after the game he could put Matthew anywhere on the field, and he would thrive. Matthew commented anywhere but goalie. He scored one goal this game, and after he scores he shows no emotion. He sprints back to the mid line, no smiles, looks very serious, and will high-5 a couple of his teammates. He gets in position, like OK, lets do the kick-off, I want to score another goal, but stays focused. After the game he got a Slurpee. Then he smiles :)
On Saturday after Matthew's soccer game, he spent the night at Grammy's house. They rented movies, ate ice cream, played games and had a lot of fun together. I know Matthew was glad to have some one-on-one attention. The next morning when I called to come pick him up, he begged if he could stay for 4 more hours! He had no desire to come home. (I wouldn't either if I was so spoiled)
