The CHP hosts an event every year called CHIPS for Kids. The CHP gathers donations of toys to deliver to needy families, or children in the hospital, and also donates to other organizations which support children. It is a huge success and we look forward to the opportunity to serve every year. This year, in preparation for the even, Trevor was asked if his children could be in the commercial. We were stoked!
So, Matthew and Maddison had to go to KCRA 3 yesterday, along with other children and CHP officers, to shoot a commercial. Matthew was so excited. He got to miss a half of a day of school, as well was going to be in a commercial all his friends could see!
When we arrived, we had to go to the green room and hang out. Trevor joined us at the station, THANK God! It was a little difficult juggling a whiny 2 year old, a hungry infant and a 10 year old with a million questions about what was going to happen. (This is in the Green Room)
We went to the studio and the kids were placed in their position for the commercial and at that time, Maddison decided she wanted NOTHING to do with it. She was tired, it was close to her nap time, and was not in a good mood. All she wanted was to be held and pick her nose.
Matthew was placed right in between the two hosts. His only job was to stand there and smile. :) Well, every child has a "real" smile, and a smile that they do when in front of a camera when they are told to smile. While watching Matthew do his "camera smile", Trevor and I are telling Matt to smile, but take after take, you could tell he was getting tired of smiling. He did a Great Job though! The commercial will air in December. He also will be on the poster that will be on donation bins all around the area too. He can't wait until people see it! He is our closet, "wanting to be famous" kid. We will definitely keep you updated on the commercial!

Such a great experience! Matt is a natural!
